BIOGRAPHY
Sudan I. Maccio is an energy lawyer and executive with 30 years of experience advising upstream, midstream, downstream, and petrochemical businesses across the United States and Latin America. He began his career at Petroleos de Venezuela S.A. (PDVSA) in 1994, supporting refining supply and marketing and PDVSA’s international downstream strategy.
Most recently, Sudan served as Chief Legal Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Corporate Secretary of PetroTal Corp. In these roles he advised CEOs, executive committees, and boards on transactions, governance, compliance and investigations, litigation strategy, and cross-border commercial and operational matters.
Sudan has led negotiations and managed legal support for complex energy transactions and projects, including joint ventures, product exchange and processing arrangements, pipeline and terminal agreements, procurement and EPC contracting, upstream joint operating matters, and M&A and asset acquisitions and divestitures.
